READ BEFORE SIGNING UP:

Basic Background Knowledge Requirements for GD&T Workshop:
  1. Basic Engineering Drawing Principles
Students should understand the fundamentals of technical drawings, such as how to read blueprints, basic symbols, and views (top, side, front, etc.).

  2. Geometric and Mathematical Fundamentals
A basic understanding of geometry (angles, lines, planes) and some fundamental math (especially related to measurements and tolerances) will be beneficial.

  3. Manufacturing Basics
A general knowledge of manufacturing processes, like machining, casting, and fabrication, is helpful for understanding the relevance of GD&T in design and production.

  4. Tolerance Basics
Some familiarity with tolerancing concepts (like plus/minus tolerances) is beneficial since GD&T builds on these ideas but introduces more complex geometries.

  5. Commitment
This is a highly sought-after course. If you can no longer attend, please notify the course instructor so students on the waitlist can attend.
Be on the lookout for more workshop details on Canvas Announcements approximately one week before the workshop.
